If I have 4 speakers I want amplified I need a 4 channel amp correct?

Yup.
I don't know much about stereos.
I also have a small penis and fantasize about being as cool as Kurupt.

Yeah. one set of speakers for one channel. Of course, if room is an issue you can get the Alpine 6 channel and run all of your speakers off of it. My general rule is mids and tweets off one amp, sub(s) off another. Your class D amps like the one from the other post are great for subs because you can run them at 2 ohms. The lower the Ohm load, the more power the amp will put out. To be completely stable at 2 ohms or less requires hellacious power...plan on running at least 4 gauge to your amps. You'll should def. consider a power cap of at least one farad.
A power cap is a quick release battery. There's a little more to it, but that's the basic definition.
HEY! Also, I need some more mod. powers yo. I can't delete shit in here...that's kinda :gayno:, I mean I know GK doesn't want me modding in the lounge (he ignores my PM pleas :kiki: ) but I should have more control here. :esquint:
