Ok, build me a kick ass sounding system for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quadcab Pickup Four Speaker version, I'm toying with the idea of installing it myself. :nails:
Music preferance: Mainly Rock, but I really listen to EVERYthing, including the occasional cRap song.. and I would like the ability to drown out the asshole next to me at the stoplight with a booming car.. even if it means a few hundred more added to the system.
Budget, say $1400.

**Edit: the links don't seem to go right to the stuff that fits in my truck like I'd hoped, so the info to enter is in Red up top.

Pick my deck.. anything up to $400
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qMAMzc1ljyC/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?g=300&avf=Y&pg=8

I have 6x9's in the front doors choose from
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qMAMzc1ljyC/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?a=1&c=3&s=0&g=52300&fit=&size=&cc=01

I have 6 1/2's in the rear doors choose from
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qMAMzc1ljyC/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?a=1&c=3&s=0&g=52000&fit=&size=&cc=01

Pick my Sub. Remember .88 cubic feet in a sealed box, mounting depth up to 7.25"
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qMAMzc1ljyC/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=520&avf=Y

Pick Two Amps, one for my sub the other for the rest of the system.

AND IF YOU KNOW OF A GOOD (CHEAP!) PLACE TO BUY CAR STUFF ONLINE, PLEASE INCLUDE LINKS TO A SYSTEM YOU CAN BUILD THERE INSTEAD OF CRUTCHFILED.

Absolutely nothing man. They are teh same. The more expensive one is just the newer version...they both play WMA, MP3 and burned CD's which is cool...and since you're running an amp, you're not worried about power output. I'd go with the cheaper one.

Buy this:

THey're awesome. You can rock out one minute with just enough bass and then when mr Boom Boom pulls up next to you, you turn that little knob all the way up and blow his doors off.:kiki: I love mine. I'll post pics of my install this weekend.

:ugh: I hate Polk. But, to each his own. Go to a local stereo shop before you buy and test out a few mids and tweets, totally work the salesman and he'll let you know what fits & doesn't fit. If they don't fit for some stupid reason, you can always add spacers on the Alpines. Def. listen to EVERY speaker before you buy man, you might get something you hate and returning is a bitch. OTherwise your system looks great, that's the exact sub you want for that amp, you'll be able to run both at 2 ohms. If that's the one with fitment issues, you can rip apart the box...I'd just put a new top on it at the size you need.
