Emissions Question

I live in RI and I'm looking to swap my 2.8L v6 to either a 305HO v8 or a 350. My question is, when they check my VIN it will tell them the car is supposed to have a v6 and obviously there will be a v8. Anyway around this? All comments are appreciated.

i don't think you can get around this no :(

if there is no visual inspection though, you can make your V8 pass under the same echeck rules for the 2.8.

I live in Delaware. They don't pop the hood, they only stick a thing in the exhaust, so how would I get it to pass emissions?

emissions are just measured as a percentage so as long as the motor is running well, its going to pass.
