I cant seem to get my timing right, I have turned the disturibitor every way but loose and still have that horrible diesel when I turn my car off. Some people say it could be a vaccum line. Any ideas?? I am stuck

prehaps your carb is dumping too much fuel. more info on your setup would be helpful.

Ahh its just a stock QuardaJunk, I believe it is overloading. Cause some times its starts up and then dies right after. Then when I hold the gas to the floor it start and spits and sputter for a few seconds..

What does that have to do with timing?

don't you have a timing light man? everyway but loose is hardly an accurate measure of degrees

Quadrajets have a tendency to leak thus dumping too much fuel. rebuild or replace your carb and get a timing light.

It's not a solution but you can shut the car off when it'd in "D" and it will keep it from running on. Be sure to put it in "P" before you get out of your car ;). Find someone with a timing light.

I used to leave it in drive, but it has gotten to the point where it would still stay running. So I found out to do it in reverse and it stops it 90 percent of the time.

Did you check for vacuum leaks?
