Contact me for help with any Berlinetta electrical problems. I repaired my Berly's electrical systems and it is 100% functional. I also have a friend who owns a Berlinetta website. He is an expert in dealing with Berlinetta's.

My HVAC/wiper pod doesn't work properly. Some buttons don't work unless I push hard and wiggle them. It doesn't control the vent selector (panel/feet/mix). And I only get 3 fan speeds even though there should be four. All the indicator lighs work but even though the light is on when a function is selected the function may not be performed. I almost want to say that it might be a bad ground because the other day I had all functions working correctly but when I put it back together it failed again. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating.

Thanks,
Rodney

Rodney,
Repairing the control pods is somewhat of a complex issue. The button section of the controls will have to be completely disassembled first. You will have to get behind the tiny metal foil contacts to clean away the years of grime and corrosion that have accumulated behind them. Take care to use a very small metal pick to gently scrape away this crud. Also use a good electronic contact cleaner. You will have to construct a new foam grid out of some type of elastic material to give the buttons their springy feeling once again. I used door weatherstripping and it worked well. Once you remove and disassemble it you will know what I am talking about.
There is a small control box that sends vacuum to the appropriate diaphragm actuator to direct the airflow. It is located directly behind the passenger side of the dash panel where a glove box would go if you had one.
The fan speed issue may be caused by a faulty resistor pack located within the evaporator core housing. It is very close to the blower motor and has several wires running out of it. Tell mow I can help further. If you need parts then John in Rhode Island has many for sale that he has reconditioned. I have an electrical troubleshooting manual on CD for sale that details all of the systems and their functions. $30 bucks will get you a copy. Contact me at georgeandromeo@aol for details.
