bad gas issues

my 83 z sat for 10 years or so and the previous owners left half a tank of gas which turned inot pure red varnish....now my tank has good gas in it but i think its still got some of that shit mixed with it. is there any way to dissolve that gunk and nasty shit without dropping the tank? thanks alot :conf:

u have to get the tank boiled... u should have done that before u put new gas in there....

thnaks but that wasent the problem.... the fuel pump ( which i just replaced twice ) doesnt have enough psi so the gas doesnt get through the carb.... so i pinched the vent on the pump and it runs like a beuty .... im gonna get a pump from gm that will have a higher psi so i wont have to have it clamped
