Hey everybody! I have a quick question about my friend's 1988 Camaro RS. Currently it has a 305 w/ TBI and a automatic transmission.

Now my question is what will be required to swap a engine from a 1985 camaro (automatic) into it? The engine is still a 305, he just got a good deal on a fresh engine. I am assuming that the flex plate (flywheel) will need to be used from the 1985, but what else is needed?

We have the engine ready to go in the car but we are just doing some research first before we start.

Thank you in advance! :)

Take engine out, insert in place of previous engine, if they are both autos and 305s, it won't matter which accessories you use (damper and flexplate...) and the intake will be the only issue, but you can get the heads drilled for the TBI intake if it doesn't match up.
