hi. I just bought the car, and have two questions.

1. What is the normal operating temperature of the car, at idle, on a cold day?

2. What is the normal oil pressure at idle with engine warm?

thanks
Alec

oil pressure should never drop below 10 psi when running. Mine runs at 80 psi.
The normal operating temp is 212deg F I think. Mine runs at 160deg F

my oil pressure stays around 28-32psi.. is that something to worry about? temperature stays around 200-210. What did you do to make your's stay around 160? thermostat? thanks.

make sure you have the air dam on the car still, and get a chip burned if you are going to use a 160 stat, otherwise your fan cut on/off temp will stay at the fact. setting (meaning on a hot day it will still get up to 200+ sitting) and you'll have shitty heat in the winter, and your car will run rich
congrats on the rs and 5spd! for your first mod (if you plan on modding) get rid of the shitty exhaust that the tbi v8 cars had

Actually I am sorry. My thermostat is a 185 degree. I changed it out when i went TPI. If you use too small of a thermostat with TPI or TBI your computer will never go into closed loop.

well, the stock ex. was pretty quiet, iirc get some headers and a y pipe, and see my post "ups guy came today" in the midwest forum, there is an idea for a homemade cold air for tbi the thing that goes over the tbi is from a 4.5 v8 caddy, you'll have to play with it to get it to fit, then get a tpi or v6 mpfi intake duct and bumper bracket and modify it
