I have a 1991 Camaro RS (3.1L V6) and lately it has been stalling out on me when i slow down and stop at a stop light or sign. i changed my fuel filter, alternator, spark plugs and wires. what could the problem be? what have i overlooked? thanks a lot

Maybe it needs some fuel injector cleaner...just a guess.

is it auto? if so i think its your torque converter lockup thats not disengaging when slowing down.

im sorry guys, im really new to the whole car scene, im trying to pick up as much as i can but i dont really know a lot of the fancy terms. the car is automatic though. lately, it seems that when i brake, and near a stop, the tach goes down to about 500rpm and then shoots up to 1500rpm. it didnt stall today, but it was still acting weird... i bought some fuel injector cleaner and ill pour it in the next time i get gas. any other ideas?

Your Idle Air Control may be malfunctioning as well. How many miles on the car? You can try removing it and cleaning it. Sometimes carbon deposits can form and gum up the mechanism, causing it not to respond fast enough. Engine throw any codes? Your TPS could be a culprit as well.

it would be all laggy and not want to go anywhere for a second or two, it would make it stall but not just from stopping. my cavalier has the 3.1 but its a 5-speed so it stalled, cleaned the whole tb and iac and ran so much better, still stalled....faulty o2 sensor it thought it was lean all the time so i dumped too much fuel into it.
just try cleaning it, if that doesnt work then take it to a trans shop and explain the problem....or you can just unplug it i think.
