Hey all,

I just picked up my first ever Camaro today (my second car) - an '89 Iroc Z. I'm so happy . I personally think I got a great deal on it- $1600. It's in pretty decent shape. It runs very well, but it's a recovered stolen vehicle. The problem areas are the locks, the steering wheel, the hood, and some paint areas here and there.

Anyways, I'm looking into getting an aftermarket security system instead of putting another stock lock system back in. As the car sits, the driver-side lock is not there, and I don't have it (it was obviously broken.) As a result, locking the car will not keep the driver door locked. Is it feasable to get an aftermarket locking and remote alarm system for the car? If so, is that also going to give me the ability to change the ignition lock? I'd really like to just have ONE key for the outside locks as well as the ignition.

What do you think? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!

(BTW, will post up pictures within a week. Oh, and targa tops are hawt!)

you will never be able to get one key for both your doors and your ign. your options are either shaving the locks or replacing the damaged/missing lock, there is also a company that makes deadbolts for cars that are armed off an alarm, but they are a bitch to put in and you had better make sure your doors dont sag or they will jam. i personally sell the viper stuff they are great alarms and any of them will work great, the most popular one i sell is the 350hv
