My Camaro right now has edelbrock headers going to flowmaster cat back with a y pipe, would adding an X pipe improve performance if so by how much, and would the x pipe make it louder? thanks

Where would you put the X pipe?

Unless you convert to true duals it isn't worth it. Plus your running headers that really wouldn't take advantage of it. The only reason to convert to true duals is if your running a real high performance 500+hp engine, other then that, the stock y-pipe style will suffice.

You can't put an X pipe in the Y. There is no room, you need True Dual to do it.

If you put an X pipe in, you need equal length headers(IE LONG TUBES), or need to engineer the proper length of pipe so that the pulses of the engine do not collide in the middle of the X simultaniously. If you do, it causes massiver reversion, and you'd be taking a step backwards.
