In the form of a 92 Purple RS we found in WV. Its purple, with T's. manual locks and windows. 5 speed with new clutch installed. 170K miles. Its a 305 TBI Blows 0 smoke and said on last compression test all were around 160ish give or take 5. Car has a 3.08 open rear. with flowmaster. Gets 23+ MPG and passes all inspections and emmissions. We got pics and everything is sound except 2 spots of surface rust on underside floor pan. about 2 inches long. but he said he took some sandpaper and it came right out to fresh metal. Its black inside and has 4thgen power leather camaro seats. No tears no nothing. He sent a bunch of pics and they look nice. I saw 2 spots of concern and emailed him back. Waiting for his answer now., but the rockers are flawless, front fenders, and rear quarters as well Asking price is 2800. If the other spots turn out good I'll offer 2300 and see what happens. Think thats a good price?
BTW it also has eibach springs.

That doesn't sound bad. What are your plans for this car? Swapping the driveline from Erin's car?

Well for starters, she is going to get the cowl hood. Then have them paint that purple along with the front clip, due to the regular chips and stuff and the back spoiler since its cracked and were putting hers on. She also wants to get some Z06 rims for it. We are going to keep the tbi through the summer so that she can drive it and stuff, but next winter we'll put her 350 in with a new FACTORY 350 HARNESS FROM 1992. no more hacking up. Also fuel pump for the 350. Other then that thats about it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Better to keep the 92 manual rather than swap in the 700R4 and I doubt the T5 would last long behind a L98.

Yeah, you say that now. Just wait till the first A-Hole pulls up in the right lane and tries to beat her to the merge. :D I'm pretty sure the best factory T5 is torque rated at 340 Ft. Lbs.

lol. Well for one thing shes scared to drive highway so there will be minimal merging :) Her dad is a truck driver for Holland and he kicks ass at stick. If anybody breaks it, its going to be him putting it through the ropes :)

SCRATCH IT. Guy postd pics of erins trouble spot and sure enough rust hole. I was like NOKAY and hung up.
Now I found another car. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=172384966&dealer_id=&car_year=1989&make=CHEV&distance=300&max_price=4000&model=CAM&end_year=1992&advcd_on=n&min_price=2000&address=44146&search_type=used&advanced=n&start_year=1987&color=&cardist=91
I found an amazing car and called on it and spoke to the owner for 30 minutes. Its an 89 RS Black 305 Auto T-Top. It has 80K on it. NO WINTERS. Full power. Everything works perfectly Always garaged. Its an older couple. I spoke to the wife. First thing I asked was hows the body. Any rust or anything. She said to sum it up. the body is in PERFECT SHAPE. It looks beautful. No rust dents dings or antyhing. . Passes all inspections and emmissions. she mentioned they drive it in the summer about 5K a year. Its all origional. Said reason they are selling it is its taking up room in the garage and my husband doesnt drive it much anymore. They had it in the paper before but just kids came to look at it and they wanted "tune something injection" i laughed and said I know what they mean. the inside is beige and is in VGC. she said one inside handle is loose but thats it. I like grey so If this car is meant for us we have a full grey interior at home lol. PLastic carpet, and all lol and camaro mats.lol Then we got into talking about price. Its listed at 3500.00 I said is this price negoshable? She said very much so. Husband would like to dump it in order to get rid of it so he can pull in his car into the garage during the winter. I said VERY nice. If we could get it for 2800 I believe its a steel. List is 3400 High 2900 Medium and 2000 low. We would have a RUST free car with low miles and nice and cheap. she said car has never been raced, or an accident thats she knows of. Its adult driven.
What d you guys hink?

I'm thinking a cowl, 350TPI and silver stripes with again the Z06's That would be a bad ass car pretty cheap.

Sounds like a nice deal if you can get that price for it. It looks almost identical to my 89 RS that i had.

Well , we setted up an appointment on Sunday so we'll see. She said las ttime I drove it was last week to the store since it was nice outside, but other then that, maybe once every two weeks if its nice. Its NOT a foul weather car. lol

Sounds like a nice car..
have you guys looked for any Z's or irocs so you dont have to deal with a motor/harness swap again?

We have the motor and no takers. We have the sway bars, and springs. We figure replace motor and get 89 TPI camaro harness and be done. replace cluster . its so much cheaper finding a RS cheap now. + we know our mistakes and could do a swap in a weekend.

I would like to own a Z, but it really doesnt matter. I'd settle for a rust free RS. Hell i got a v8 sitting in my garage. I'll settle for any car rust free lol.
