Well now, where do I begin???
How about I just put a list of the stuff that is not working properly and then you can reply with a reference number???

1. Starter does not always engage - This vehicle has had a starter button installed by a former owner and does not work with the chipped key switch. Security light does go off like it is supposed to. Hit the button and sometimes it just makes a click and hmmmmm noise, and sometimes it just spins the motor like its supposed to.

2. Engine starting - sometimes when the engine is cranking, that is all it is doing. It will sit and crank like the coil is not firing, but it is. What I have figured out is that the computer is not triggering the injectors to spray fuel. Fuel pump is working fine and so is the ingition system. All at once, it will decide that it wants to just fire up and run like a scalded dog, or at least a moderatly happy lab waiting for the next ball throw.

3. Blower motor fan - barely puts out any air flow, and continues running for approximately 5-10 seconds after the ignition is turned off.

Any suggestions or comments are welcomed and thanks for reading, and replying if you know something I dont.

Happy Holidays to all

1~3: Is your battery charged and does it have good terminals?

1. I caint help you w/VATS questions, never had it.

2. What is the fuel pressure with key on engine off, and while you crank?

3. see my first response and check wiring around it.

OK
I am going to convert it over to top post battery since I am getting new battery for free.

Fuel pressure is unknown due to not having a fuel pressure gauge, but fuel pump is wired directly to fuse box since computer quit turning it on. VATS system is apparently working ok, but not sure if the problem is with the VATS or with the wiring somewhere along the other routes because of it not turning on the engine's fuel injection.

Will investigate the key assembly, and wiring going to the VATS computer, but only after it warms up some here. Like 10 degrees outside at present.

Thanks for the reply, and will check into the suggestions. Please keep posting on this subject so I have different choices to look into, and make my shop guy real happy at $45 per hour.
