What kind of info do you need? Stock colors =? Or an actual stock wiring harness?

well one the guys that owned the car before me apparently cut out the factory wiring harness & spliced on a new one that only fits the kenwood cassette player that was in there, but now I want to put a pioneer cd player in there so either A)Im gonna wire up the pioneer wiring harness like he did with the kenwood one which would probably be easy or B)try to find the factory wiring harness & rewire it back in there- I already have the color chart for the factory wire colors

Most new harnesses are the same these days, ive had a sony, jvc, and kenwood that had the same plug in the back, they are tryin to make it universal.

Wiring a stereo is really easy...as long as you have the pig tails that go in the back of the head unit you are installing, you just solder them to the right wires in teh dash and you're done.

it might even be as easy as buying an adaptor harness and plugging it in too.

Dude. Don't give advice in my forum. :finger:

While soldering is a viable solution to any wiring disaster, in this case, I wouldn't recommend it. In a car, where more often than not you're moving things around, wiring is getting jostled and head units are being replaced/upgraded, soldering is a bad idea. It's too permanent for moblie audio in my honest opinion. Crimp caps work just fine. Here's a link for 88-92 F-body. You can find other things on that site as well. They're great guys.

The reverse harness could be soldered, once again I'd recommend crip caps...even butt connectors. After buying the reverse harness, invest in the regular harness too. It plugs into the reverse and then wires directly to your head unit. When you buy an in dash kit for the cd player, try to get the flush mount one. The half inch isn't bad, but the 1" and up look like ass.

so your advice would to be get another factory harness and wire it in then get the adapter (gm to Whatever) and just have plug and play ability since people may or may not change it out from time to time right?
