i brought home a new (to me) truck monday night. finallized the loan papers on it this morning.
i brought home a 2002 chevy s10, with 29,900 miles and the balance of the factory warranty. also has a 6 year/ 75,000 mile warranty for powertrain, and major electrical (alternator, starter, wiring, etc). they tried to get me to buy the bumper to bumper. i asked them, "why do i need a warranty for power windows when this truck doesn't have power windows? or, power locks, for that matter." anyway, it is "medium green" with charcoal interior, and regular steel wheels. 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. someone also added a tonneau cover as well, it looks brand new.
i know that some of you guys are going to suggest that i shouldn't have done it, but i'm tired of $500 cars. i've had them since i was 16 years old. also, if i am going to buy a house, i need to have more credit established than what i currently have.
besides, this might teach me some more self-discipline.
anyway, i'm hoping to be able to wash and wax it this weekend, and get some photos.

At 16 it taught you auto mechanics 101, sometimes learning the lessons the hard way. Now that you've got a good job, dependability becomes a necessity, for you as well as your vehicle. Congrats on your new wheels. I'm sure turning the key is less stressful now knowing it's going to start.

Now you can have my lumina as a winter car. Gotta be better in the snow then RWD. Its nice that it has a Tonneau cover already . They are nice in keeping rain and snow out + they come off fast to put stuff in the back. (As you saw on mine). Get a set of Iroc Rims on that bad boy and it'll look nice lol

thanks everyone.
i'm probably just going to keep it as it is, just remove the dealer stickers, and drive it. keep it clean, and hopefully it lasts me a long time. :)

a guy at the autozone down the street has a maroon 85-ish s10 longbed slammed on iroc rims. it looks good.
we'll see what happens. i'm perfectly happy with the truck right now. just can't wait to wash and wax it for the first time. :D

Good luck leaving it alone i bought a 2003 to drive also tired of the $500 dollar car thing. next thing i knew she was dropped 4/5 with the 91 92 Z28 wheels, subs, amps, clear corners, and the list goes on. Was it reg or extended cab?

mine is a regular cab. i was tempted to get a colorado, but didn't want a first-year truck. i've also heard of cooling problems with that new 5 cylinder engine.
i'm leaving this alone. just plan to drive it, and pay the payments so it builds my credit. i'd like to be in a house by the time i'm 30.

no need for iroc rims or to lower it, that's just more money you could be putting into your camaro.
