stock delco cd player

My delco unit is acting weird when i go past half volume the speakers start to cut out with whatever not the singer is hitting on the cd ,the speakers go throught high and low points throught all the speakers.Any idea what this might be?

The delco units in our cars suck. End of story. They were great back in the 80's and all, but for all practical purposes you should upgrade A.S.A.P.
