Hi!

Maybe someone here is able to help me. At first, please excuse my bad english, i am from Germany.
My ride is a 1988 Firebird 2.8l (or 173 cui ?) with 5 Speed. Well, last winter i had to put in a new engine, cause the old was broken (after 180.000 miles) I was glad to buy another V6 2.8l with automatic from 1987 for a few bucks. The car was broken, but the engine is in great condition. So i took the engine from the automatic and plant it in my 5 Speed. I changed everything like Flywheel, dumper etc. But now, when i start the engine it vibrates and as more as i smash the gas, the vibration grows. And the vibration is strong, the whole car vibrates as i would drive very fast on cobblestone(?). So what is wrong? Is it cause damper, crankshaft and flywheel dosen't harmonize?
Has anyone some good ideas for me?

Thank you very much and greetings from Germany

Hard to say, I could see the harmonic damper being a problem if it isn't on correctly. I'd go through and make sure everything in there looks like its together prefectly, but my best advice would be to go over to www.thirdgen.org for tech advice. For the most part this is just a place to sit around and chat in the lounge, not too much tech talk.

Greetings from the USA though, feel free to stick around and don't worry too much about your english, your typing is easier to understand than some of our other members that live in the states. :raz:
