Here is what happened... I left work tonight kinda hard. Pulled up to a stop sign, turned and just got on it for a couple seconds until I hit second gear and the tires chirped, then I let off. Well appearantly there was a sherriff driving the same direction behind me. Well he pulls me over and says I was doing 65mph in a 45, and squealing tires. Well my windows were alll the way down. I usually never even roll them up unless I am parked. He was looking for more tickets and says "roll your window up" So I do and he says "alright, I got a third ticket". I don't know why he was doing this but now I have 3 tickets. 65 in a 45, squealing tires and tinted windows. I have this shitty purple tint that was on the car when I bought it a few months ago and never bothered taking it off cause the car is for sale right now. Well anyway I guess my question is what should I tell the judge? I don't think the tires spun coming out, just on the shift and I really don't think I hit 65mph. He wrote on the ticket that he paced me.
I really can't afford this ticket or a lawyer or to get my license suspended.
please help,
THanks

You may be able to get court supervision on on of the moving violations and the window tint is not a moving violation so other than the fine it won't hurt you.

The law in IL says you have to get three moving violations in a year to lose your license not three tickets.

Oh and those illegal squealing or screeching of tires tickets almost cost me my license a time or two when I lived in IL.

If your under 21, it is 2 movers in a year.

I never had to deal with the graduated license stuff. I would try for court supervision on one of them in that case. As long as you don't get another ticket in a year it will disappear then.

Not sure what part of Illinois you live in, but I spent the last 13 years living in Naperville, and I'll tell you, they're the biggest PITA's. They're always trying to get you for something. I didn't see anywhere about any previous tickets you may have had, so I'd only worry about the speeding ticket. If you pull the tint off the window, you can probably have that ticket dismissed, and for the squealing tires, when I got mine, and yes I deserved it, it was dismissed as well. When you go to court and are asked to enter a plea, plead not guilty, and then either the DA or one of his/her assistants will pull you to the side and talk with you about the ticket. Tell them that you really don't want the tickets on your record, and that you would like to request supervison on the tickets, they're usually interested in getting a conviction and will usually work with you as long as they get that. I received 3 tickets at one time, speeding, squealing tires (about 75' patch) and blackouts front & back on my old 89 RS. I told the DA that I pulled the blackouts off and that I wanted supervision, so he dismissed the blackouts and squealing tires and gave me 3 months supervision on the speeder.

Sorry for the long post, but I've been in your shoes and just remember the most important thing...be nice to the judge and DA and they'll usually work with you.
