emissions cut-off date in MA??

simple question for you guys (and possibly girls>?)

at what age does a vehicle become exempt from emissions testing in Mass?? ive read 15 years old, and ive also read 20 years old... i figured atleast one of you would have to know

im not sure, but seeing how fugged up that state is, im going to guess NEVER.

i recall my dad having to swap jets in his 74 spitfire to pass their emissions testing.... and ofcourse he switched them right back afterward... car wasnt even drivable that way, but it was "cleaner" then when it ran properly....

i didnt have to pass on my 83 montecarlo, but that was both 15 years old and 20 years old so its a bad reference... and im starting to think that the mechanic i was going to was hooking me up b/c ive heard that he doesnt make anyone fail...
