Tuned port porting question

Iam hoping someone will have the answer, i havent had any luck yet. Iam currently porting my tuned port plenum and i need to know if grinding off the hump on the bottom of each port right behind the throttle body will cause any problems. This is the hump in front of the EGR hole in the floor of the plenum. I wasnt sure if there was a reason GM casted it there as for turbulence issues or what. Any help would be appreciated. thanks :roll:

there is an excellent book out there on porting the tpi and making more power with it. its called "insiders hints" and one called "lt-1 hints and l-98 update". both books are by tpis and are available on thier website www.tpis.com check them out!
