What do police officer think of Security officers?

Just curious as to what police officers think of security officers. In Texas they wear uniforms and weapons and look just like law enforcement. Are they of help to law enforcement or just get in the way? They are even in our Federal bldings providing security there. Curious as to what your responses will be.

It depends on the security officer, to be honest. I don't like to lump them all together. There are some that do exactly what they're supposed to do.......sit back, watch the crime while reporting it to us via 911. Then you have the Rambos that try to stop the crime, but fuck everything up in the process. They're not as highly trained as we are, so the Rambos get in our way and annoy the shit out of us.

To be a security officer that is respected by officers, you have to act as eyes and ears. When you do that, I view you as an extension of the law enforcement community. If you do Rambo shit, trust me, you'll be the laughing stock of your local PD's briefing room.

I never was a security guard/officer (rentacop). I was at the same place for a little over 3 years. But anyway, i may very well be comming to a county near you soon. muaahahaha.
