running a plate number

is there any legal way to run a plate number? theres a guy down at the races who everyone thinks is a cop. we would like to know to keep people from being arrested for street racing. if theres any way to find out who the ohio plate XONVLDZ belongs too, it would help alot. thanks in advance

asking cops how to avoid other cops on something illegal is kinda stupid, no?

I can pretty much guarantee you that if you DO manage to get that tag run, it's not going to come back to a cop.

1. Departments aren't going to pay extra each year for personalized tags.
2. U/C cars don't return to their departments, they'll return to fictitious people/companies.
3. Street racers are paranoid. The cops that are watching you are ones that you'd never guess were cops anyway.
