hey, the on cop at school thought he saw a beer bottle in my car, even though i never drink or have never drank, i'm only 16. I would not let him in the car. He had no warrant or antyhing to get into my car. Now he is on my back all the time checking on my car instead of everyone elses car. Is he allowed todo this.
I also got a ticket for too loud of an exhauist even though i have a legal exhaust system installed. I still have togot court to show its not illegal.
BUt is this cop allowed to pick on me for soething he had no reason to get into my car for? All he does is try to get onto me.

Yes, he can. We have discretion on what violations we enforce and to whom, providing we're not picking on a person because of their race, sex or creed.
I'm just curious.....if it wasn't a beer bottle, why didn't you just let him in the car to clear it up on the spot? Would have saved you a lot of trouble. When I was a teen, I was asked everytime I was stopped if they could search my car. I didn't care since I didn't have squat to hide. It's a car, so I didn't feel all that infringed upon.

that woulda given him probable cause to search the car...especially if its on school property, and its your own fault he's on your ass for leaving a beer bottle in plain site in your car...if it wasnt you then beat the shit out of your friend thta did leave it there. and cat-backs are not rated legal sound wise, every county/town has different decibal rating for exhaust....even though i've been pulled over for it many times and the motorcycles with exhaust twice as loud never get shit...i've always been nice and polite and they've never issued a ticket or warning to get it fixed. If you have nothing to hide then telling them they can do a search is good too, i've done that every time ive gotten pulled over since I was arrested and the cops have been getting increasingly cooler with me.

well i figured after that it was kinda a good idea. People are threatening to mess up my car, key it and the such, with the cop paying special attention to my car, they have less chace of getting away with it.
There was no beer bottle, it was a pepsi bottle behind the seat. Big fn deal. How could you get plastic confused with glass bottles. Theres no fn way, he just wanted to look around in the car. I wasn't gonna let him.
He didn't have probrable cause to search my car, unless he DID se a bottle he can. He thought he saw a bottle. Theres a huge difference. I know a little about law, my aunt that just got out of prison was a loyer. She went to jail for embezzling $125k. Shes cool now, she might go back to work as lawyer but i dont know. She said she was gonna move down here to florida so she'll have to start clean here.

that sucks that the officer gives you a hard time now after that incident...
correct me if i'm wrong, but when you get your license dont you sign something that says you give concent for peacekeepers to search your vehicle upon request? i know law enforcement cannot bust your door down and search your house without a warrant but i always thought that vehicles were a different story...could be wrong tho, just thought i'd get my question answered and clear up at least one of our concerns lol. good luck man hope nobody screws with your car! i got a kickass alarm for sale if u wanna know more about it just pm me! take care.
I think you're thinking of implied consent. That's only for DWI arrests. You agree to provide a breath sample upon request. That's why you lose your license when you refuse.

NO. Vehicles are just like your house. They can't come inside unless they have a warrant or probable cause. A beer bottle in plain site, especially if your 16 WOULD be probable cause.
If you getting your license gave officers the right to search your car. Why do they always have to ask?

they always have to ask... however they are trained to do it in such a way that 99% of everyone asked will let them.

Just to clarify, the supreme court has held that an automobile has a far less expectation of privacy than a dwelling.

well cops can ask me anything, but if they have no reason then i wont let them. I've got my rights.
I went to court and they ruled the exhaust was not commiting noise poltuion nor was it violating emissions(duh, since in florida there are no emissions)
