kewl deal, whatcha doing to it?
i'm pulling the 305 and setting in a 355, gotta figure out what to do for the trannie, i wanna keep the 700r4 for the 4 speed, but it's gonna cost alot of have it set to hold the power.
of course the best way <the way i'm 80% sure i'm going> is to drop a th350 behind it, hook up a vacuum line and go :D
idea's?

I pulled the 3.1L and installed a L98, which blew up so I put in a 357 4 bolt main, freshly rebuilt the 700R4, I just put hotchkis 2" drop springs and KYB gas a just shocks in the rear today, I'm doing the front and installing the transmission tomorrow.
As for your setup, yes it costs $$$ for an OD transmission to withstand some horses, but I'd say do it, because that overdrive is nice to have.
If your car is a daily driver, KEEP THE 4 SPEED, if it's a track only vehicle, I would recommend a TH 350. what are your engine specs?

530 bucks for a pro-built rebuild kit for the 700r4. If i blow out my tranny i'm gonna buy one and rebuilt my 700r4. The rebuild kit is suppose to hold up to 600 hp. I'm building a 355 that should have around 430-440 HP at the flywheel if everything goes right.

sorry, i was away for the weekend...
The motor as she sits now is nothing too special.
355 <350 4 bolt .30 over>
TRW Forged Flattop pistons
SR torquer heads
performer RPM
CompCam Cam
and a few more goodies.
just got done disassembling the motor <bought it used>
and it looks like the cam is bad. so it opens up some doors for more power ;)

i'm selling the zz4 cam out of my car if you're intersted. pretty good power and a great idle. only used it for 8k miles.

You're going to need some new tires to transplant all that power to the pavement, right????? :D  *motions to read the "tires for sale" in signature*

hmmm, not a bad deal, she's got 265/65R15s on the back now, but the tires are shit. dry rotted and such.
I still have to get my headers, exast 3" baby :),carb, hood, and assemble the motor.

I say the solution to the transmission problem is to install a 6 speed like I did :D btw, I used to live in Syracuse NY a few months ago...just moved to VA

It's not dead if you look to the regional clubs. For example, www.njfboa.org (http://www.njfboa.org) has events going on all the time in New Jersey. The PA folks have www.epfba.org (http://www.epfba.org) and also have events going on all the time, sometimes collaborating with the NJ folks.
National boards like this one are great for reaching out beyond your borders, butr rarely have the appearence of activity beyond some chit chat and info sharing. Get to your regional clubs for more activity.
