How important is having the upper radiator shroud? I am working on installing a set of dual electric fans, and they are not the stock ones. So I either need to modify it to try and fit just over the radiator, or ditch it alltogether. what do you suggest?

if the fans are shrouded individually you can ditch the shroud, if not I think it'll run at higher temps or something.

The shroud helps to draw air through the radiator. So keping it would be a pluss. Although there are setups in summit magizine with no shroud.

I would modify the shroud.

I agree it would be a plus to be able to keep the shroud, but models that came with electric fans stock had no shroud. Your call.

Edit: I also think that main point of the shroud is to be able to move the fan farther back from the radiator so it will lessen the leverage (weight) on the water pump shaft.
Since electric fans are about as close to the radiator as you can get I don't think the shroud would be necessary.

fan shroud :whack:

imo, its not needed with electric fans.
