i am working on getting a stock dual fan setup for my car(I have single now). Now I havent done much research, but I have a diferent engine swapped into my car, plus most of the original wiring is gone. So how would I go about wiring up the dual fans? I just basically want them to run all the time, whenever the car is on, figuring it only gets to about 40degrees here during the coldest part of the winter.

also, did the third gens come with 2 different sized air dams, with on ebeing larger than the other, height wise?

Personally I wouldn't want them to run all the time, had a bad fan switch that kept mine on car was slow to warm up.

Anyways to answer your question there is a really good tech article on fans at www.thirdgen.org

That is for when you have all the switches and wiring still there from the factory, which I don't have......

Ahhhh.....in that case just hook them up to a toggle switch or run them off an ignition controled power source in the fuse box. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

As for the air dam, I only know of the one size and have never seen a different one.

Hook the groung wire(s) the ground near the battery. Then route the Positive wire(s) to an IGN power. There may be one in the engine compartment. If the engine is computer controlled this might not be a good idea. The engine might take long to warm up and running hard on a cold engine is a bad idea.

My car didn't have the electric fan set up either. I wired the fans to a toggle switch through a relay because the fan will draw 20-30 amps. Hard on the altenator if they run full-time.

If you are distracted very easily then I would reccomend wiring a thermo switch to control the fans. I have forgotten to turn mine on a couple of times. DOH!

I've run mine like this for 4 summers but will eventually wire in a thermo switch but keep the toggle switch for complete control.
