havent owned mine for 2 -3 years now. sold it to my friend 3 months after finishing it. he still has it. it was a 85 berlinetta 305 auto, ws6 suspension, steering box, wheels and stuff from a 89 formula 350, custom iroc hood. i filled in and smoothed all mounting holes for the louvers.

this is a picture of it right after paint

Hmmm, Formula wheels on a Berlinetta? Looks kinda cool. Do you miss it?

yup i did miss it. until i was given a 88 iroc convertable in september. i had put alot of work into it the berlinetta. just got sick of it at the time it rode horible you felt every crack in the road but handled awsome. i think thats what made me lose interest the most the way it rode.

Sorry to hear that but there were some frame crack problems on the '82 thru '85 f-bodies. The Berlinetta's and the sport coupes didn't get certain frame braces that the Z-28's and TA's got. As a result stress cracks started appearing a few years after production. This frame crack problem caused sloppy steering. The Iroc's had special suspension and did not suffer from this problem. I had a '86 IROC that I dearly loved and enjoyed. I sold it to pay for my '79 Vette. I wish I had the Iroc back but not at the expense of my Vette. Most people I talk to say they love their IROC. Maybe I'll have another one in the future. MM

yup the extra bracing for the irocs is the wonderbar as its called. bolts between the frame and front sway bar. had that on the berlinetta also at the same time i did the suspension swap from the formula. i had originally built the car to autocross but never did autocross it. the berlinetta never had sloppy steering actually it was one of the tightest cars ive ever driven. it did exactly what you wanted when you wanted

My Little bro has an 84 Berlie; Hard top, 2.8L, Auto.
We swapped out the non working dash for a "traditional" 3rd gen dash, the front bumper cover was trashed so we put on an 85 Berlie cover. Also swapped out the trashed seats for seats from the same 85 Berlie. Next we're swapping out the carbbed 6 for my old MPFI 6

Would've loved to have kept the Starwars dash but the speedo/tach stopped working :-S

Makes me wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine. Nice ride.

Pardon the intrusion guys, just HAD to post in this forum. The old-timers might understand why.

Very good to know. Thank You for the offer. I will keep it in mind. May I refer people to you when they inquire about my troubleshooting manual on CD?

looks nice and clean, but honestly I can't tolerate those hoods. never could. but to each his own, and everything else is nice and subtle. I like that. I really would like to take one of those and custom fab the front clip to have the berly clip, but with iroc gfx all the way around and lower it just a touch with some nice 17's/18's. That would really be an elegant touch. especially keeping the berly trim style/colors

why the berli cip? Not a fan of the slots generally.. I'll admit some cars wear them well but not usually.
