The cooling system on my car is giving me one heck of a headache. I'm relaitivly new to F-Bodies and so I wondered if I was missing some 'easy' fix.

It's an '88 T/A LO3 5-Speed.

My problem is that the fans aren't comming on automatically. THey only come on if I switch on the AC. I replaced both fan relays, both tempature sensors, and the thermostat. Is there another piece that I'm missing? Now that it's been this way for a while, my thermostat housing is leaking. Obviously this needs to be fixed, but is there something else that I need to replace to get the fans to come on?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

drivers side fan works off the coolant temp sensor which tells the computer what temp the engine is, which is turn turns the fan on. the computer grounds that relay around 228.

the passengers side fan works on the fanswitch / a/c pressure switch. the fan switch stock is set to ground the relay and turn the fan on around 234 or around that.

The switch that is in the passenger side head will turn both fans on if it is triggered. You can test it by taking the wire off of it (it is right between two of the spark plugs) and touching it to a ground. Just the engine block or something. That should tell you if the wiring is good and you just have a bad switch. Or if the car is just not hot enough. One catch though. If the engine is running it will turn on both fans. If the the key is on but the engine is not running then only one fan will turn on.
