TC this is just outrigt stupid.

I was pulled over in Eastland for not having a front plate on my car. Well it wasnt showing, it was under the cover, I forgot to take the cover off for the drive up to lubbock from houston.

The State Trooper gave me a warning for "going over 70" - I was doing 71, my mom was riding in the car with me and can verify that, she wont let me speed.

and he also gave me a warning for not having the front plate.

However, he DID give me a citation for my lisence not being changed yet since my parents have moved. How fucking stupid is that? they want 125 dollars for it.

I dont even really live with my parents, im a college student, full time.

How can I get out of this? I cant afford it, so if comes down to just not paying it, it might.

you're probly going to have to show up in court to fight it at all..

im not sure on texas, but in alot of states, college students are exempt from having to change addresses like that.

heres where you want to poke around online to find a answer: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver_licensing_control/dlindex.htm

if i were you, id change the address on the license to the correct one, and see about getting it dropped... athough you may end up paying it anyway.. really would depend on the judge at that point

I believe our court drops the charges if you change the address within 10 days. However, if you were out in bumfuck Egypt, you'll have to appear in front of a J.P. court, and guess who state troopers are best buds with in B.F.E.?

Call the JP court at the number on the citation first and ask them if they will submit the citation to the judge for dismissal if you provide proof of the change. If not, you're right, it'll never hit your driving record.
