I'm building up a new engine, a blown 355 to be exact. I have a 177 blower right now, single carb app. Now this engine is very insane and could handle a lot more than 177. I was thinking of upgrading it to a 6-71, dual carb system. Now 6-71 are not really for street cars, but I want some insane power comin form this engine. If a cop were to pull me over and found out I had a 177 or 6-71, what's the penalty? Would my car get impounded, or is it just a fee or something? And if I don't take it off can I get another ticket for it later on or does double jeopardy apply? Please help me out. I'm from Illinois btw. Thanks.
Most states are similar. In Texas they're completely legal. The challenge comes when it's time to pass emissions tests if you live in an emissions county. Any modification to the engine makes it very difficult to pass.

Yeah, i was planning on putting dual cats on each of my dual pipes lol. Also this crap called Heet helps. Burns hotter and burns the emissions off but it's not exactly the best thing in the world for your engine. Thanks though.

when its time to go for testing re jet the carbs and run it on alky that or you can run the tank real low and dump about 10 bottles of dry gas in the tank. just check the plugs to make shure you dont go lean with the dry gas trick
