I had a blazer 84 k5 and traded it to a friend for a 94 Infiniti j30. Well I drove it for a little while and then he borrowed it for a while and when I got it back it had new tags and inspection on it.
Well needless to say I got pulled over tonight for a "headlight being out" which wasn't even out. Well she said they were out and wandered where the ones on there came from. So I said hell if I know so she ran them and they were the ones from the Blazer. So I was screwed. I told here the story and she was a smatass and said I was lying. Well she came back and took my Reg sticker and just gave me a ticket for an Exp Reg. So I was wondering if I can get out of it anyway or if I can just get the Reg and get it dismissed or If I should just plead quilty and pay the fine.

Not sure who locked this or why. Probably the attitude. According to Texas state law, if you correct the violation within 10 business days and provide proof of the correction, the court MAY dismiss the charge, minus court costs.

Personally, I think you're full of shit, but that's just personal opinion. I see swapped registration stickers all the time. Your buddy wouldn't put the Blazer's sticker onto the Infinity for your benefit. In Texas we can run the registration sticker bar code number through the computers and tell exactly which car it belongs on. With the inspection sticker, we call DPS and they can tell us which car it belongs on. It might seem like a quick fix, but it's actually fraud. Fraud with a government document in Texas is a felony, so you got off very light with the ticket.

In all seriousness I really didn't know about him changing them, I guess he took the ones off of the blazer because He pulled the engine out of it and it wasn't running. He was driving the Infiniti for about a month after we traded becasuse he has a bike and it got cold. When it cam back he said he got tags and inspection for me. So I quess your answer was just pay the fine. :)
