I believe as long as the bottle is empty its ok, but if they find you with a full bottle on the street I think its a pretty hefty fine... just what ive heard, dont know how true it is

best advice. call your local motor vehicle bureau and ask them. or get a copy/book of your state's traffic laws ($1.00 here). in ny it's legal......for now......

It is addressed by the Texas traffic code, but the way it is written makes it about completely unenforceable. It states that nitrous cannot be "used" on public roadways. If you have half a brain, you'd never get caught "using" it on the public roadway. It's perfectly legal to have it equipped on your car, though.

in NH you have to have the bottle closed but that just means you have to get a auto opener

well in az the bottle must be closed, and it can not be close enough to open.......but if you have a remote bottle opener i think you can get a ticket for that......if the lines are hooked up...but i think that is a rumor. just dont get busted....
