To make a long story short: I currently use AT&T wireless. I lost the phone over the weekend. When I called them they said they would sell me a refurbished phone to replace it for under $30. Well now I call them to find out that the cheapest phone that can be used in Delaware is $105! Their reception down here isn't all that great, I wish I hadn't gone with at&t.

I was thinking about just paying the $175 early termination fee and getting another company locally that will have better reception and better service. With shipping and tax on that phone the differance is maybe 40 dollars. (military gets activation fees waived, so that will save some money)

What would you do? Buy a out-dated 1st gen cell for $105...and keep AT&T...or pay the early term and get a better plan and coverage?

Id probably pay the fee an go somewhere else. 105 for an outdated phone is crazy. You can get new ones for next to nothing with rebates.

Well I talked to a new customer service rep there and I didn't tell him about that bullshit about only 2 phones working here. I bought the 30 dollar rpl phone and, sure enough, it works fine. When the contract expires I'll be moving on for sure...at least I didnt get screwed out of a additional $70 or more dollars.
