How much money to get a 400 Block machined?

I just got a 4 bolt main 400 and its in pretty rough shape. I believe its still standard bore because the edges ae kinda worn down. Its also kinda rusty. It looks as if I should just throwit away, but I would hate to throw it away if it can be reused. Any suggs? Also the motor cam with brand new cast 6in rods too. (BTW this is Matt)

You really need to have the cylinders measured to make sure its a standard bore. 4.125

I'm guessing if it has 6incg rods Someone prob took it 30 over also when rebuilt. but maybe not.

A local shop here wants $98buc;s to check a block.
I believe thats hot tanking , new cam bearings etc.
If it needs bored thats 128more.

I a 400 I'm taking to a 418cid.
I'm about to pick up one more Standard bore 2bolt block also.
The one i have now is already 30over. and should clean up fine but I may sell it or take it 40 over.

Don't be afraid to take it 60over. like most people will tell you. If you do everything right you wont have problems.

Right as in
EDIT: N/M on the splyed mains you got a 4bolt. Personally Id sell it and Get a 2bolt and do as I said get billen main caps and have it converted to a splayed 4bolt.

Nevermind lol. I went down the street to "my" mechanic who works for Haleen, who helps "me" when I am in a bind and hes like noce going. He slike ever going to use it? I'm like prob not. Hes like you do owe me for that head gasket job I did on your lumina back when I was 16 and broke lol. I'm like ok I'll bring it over tomorrow lol. It was pretty rusted and pitted and he also said its prob 30 over already with the 6in rods and there is a nice ridge on the top of the bores. Oh well Hopefully he will be able to put it to good use.

You can go 40 over even 60 over.

If you still want a 400block to build up let me know. I'm gona get rid of the one I have now when I get this other one.
