View Full Version : What's in a name?

I call myself TwoBears because up until recently I had two decals of bears on the back of my Camaro. I took them off because one was starting to come loose since I hadn't prepped the surface by stripping the wax from my bumper. I put those decals there because my wife collects teddy bears, and she wanted the car to be her's as well. (She has only driven it once since March 2002 and the experience was terrifying. She's afraid of getting into an accident with it.) Now there is only one bear and that one is sitting on top of the radio/heater control cluster and will be staying there.
Recently I did a search using Google on the word "Bear" and found some interesting stuff. It seems that there is a group of gay men that call themselves 'Bears'. Why they call themselves bears is beyond me. But I think I need to tell you all that I am not gay. I am not a weirdo. I came to this site because I was told it was good for 3rd Gen info in N.E. Ohio.
Later,
Dave

i don't think there were any worries here, dave. interesting stuff you found on google though.
i dunno why i picked the name chainsaw, seemed funny at the time. i tried asking george to change it to the name i use everywhere else, but he said no. i'd have to re-register with a new name. kinda :gayno: maybe i'll try asking AE.
anyway, i'd agree that this is a good source for ne ohio info.

Hey Chainsaw, it just wouldn't be the same without ya! (Ya, I know it's just a name but noone knows whether it's a 14 incher like I've got or a big two foot saw! Well, I've met the guy and he's definitely way above the two-foot saw. And yes, I actually do have a gas powered 14 inch chainsaw. It's an old McCulloch and it still works.

I thought you picked chainsaw as you were working at a place that repairs them? Whatever, choosing a nick can be mind-boggling. And do you carry the same nick from board to board. I do for the most part and it has caught attention at some of the shows I attend. Two bears was a puzzler until I met you and your wife and figured it was about the two of you. I remember when wacky tower first came onto the forum here. We were trying to get a Columbus gathering going. I thought the term tower was referring to the structure, like the british comedy, faulty towers, and when I first met him I greeted Mark thus so. It was then he explained he was a tow truck driver and thus 'tower'.
Then there's Mkos1980 who still gets harassed for his nick and the meaning :D
