With the my camaro. :tear: i was going down pleasant valley at 35mph to matts house. the damn thing walked out in the road. I couldn't swerve around cuz there were cars coming the opposite way so i tried to brake and i slammed into the deer. That deer skid/rolled like 20 ft. It hobbled back into the woods. I'm alright, praise the lord no one was behind me. The deer hit the front end on the passenger side. Cracked the front clip from the light to the bottom of my grill. Took my bootleg paint job off the front spoiler. It could of been a lot worse. i was really lucky. My dad has to call he insurance company tomorrow since the car is under his name. If you see a deer with a big ass red mark while driving though Walton Hills, thats the deer i hit lol.

32 lbs? forget carrying that thing all day. i can carry my 12 ga. all day long. and it makes enough noise as it is.
sounds like a kickass gun though.
ben's brother nathan has this gun that looks like an assault rifle, but it shoots 9mm pistol ammo. it's fun to shoot.
oh yeah, how much does that bad boy cost? my shotgun cost ~$300.

Oh, bummer!
That area of Walton Hills is bad for deer... you need to get that gun of Chris' and mount it on the hood for your next encounter.
Oh, and I loved the comment Rob made... I was thinking the same thing!

Yeah, i hate those creatures. I was on 91 near wilson mills and hit one in my jeep. rolled it over 3/4 of a turn. Total write off. Course it never would have rolled if i hadn't screwed with it to begin with.

Had so much work into that thing too. not only the 10.5 inches of total lift but also my biggest engine rebuild so far, .030 over AMC 360 V8. That thing was a beast lol.

I have almost hit a number of deer in the car too. Had one stick its head in the window at 35 miles an hour. I can't believe he got it back out in time.

Hell man, a few more inches of lift, some taller tires and you could have cleared the bastard with ease. :D Or at least had the pleasure of running it over. Come to think of it, you never see a flat dear ... squirrels, possums, rabbits ... yes, but never a deer. Then have the antlers mounted to the grill, have some fake blood splattered over the front and watch them shiver as you drive by.

After a semi annihilates one you're lucky to see anything left of the carcass. I've seen them headless with the torso lying off to the side, cut in half, you name it, we've seen it around here.
Leaving my street, I have to be careful as the deer come up from the river and cross into the fields I have to drive past. Many a morning/evening I've had them cut across in front of me, spooked usually.

I know all too well that if i had just driven over it, nothing would have happened. Might have had to bend back a big stainless bumper but nothing other than that. If only i had been changing the radio and not paying attention at the time lol.
THUMP
"hey there's a good tune....what was that thump?"
"you ran over a deer!!!"
The instinctual reaction to dodge just didn't make sense and it the idea to hit it crossed my mind as the accident was occuring...of course it did not cross fast enough...neither did the deer lol.

i hate deer.
i've hit two of them, in the exact same place on the exact same road.
first time did no damage to the car (old plymouth caravelle)
second time, the deer got the hood, grille, and headlight on the parents plymouth acclaim. i called the dodge dealer to price a new hood, grille, and headlight bucket(piece that the light bulb goes in). the hood alone was $475 from dodge not including paint. i promptly went to the junkyard, and scored everything for $125. i'll put up with mismatched paint

I got y 1st estimate today from Boroski Autobody here in Bedford.. They want $668 in parts and $580 in labor totaling $1464. The guy said I got off easy, he says damage is usually 3 times as worse. I'll have to post a few pics.

Erin ,
Sorry to hear of your misfortunes , believe me I know I got hit with a deer in my 2002 Xtreme Blazer and I know how you're feeling right now. Body shop had my Blazer 3 weeks straight. Over $3500 damage and I only had three small dents , it took them 3 days to clean all the glass out of the inside as it broke out two windows and damaged the headliner and several interior trim pieces.
Miss seeing you Sunday and getting you to sign the Tri State Camaro Club's banner at Summit.
Hope you get your Camaro as soon as you can ,

Sorry about your car, Erin. I know you had it looking great and had spent some time making it so.
But the most important thing here is that you are ok.
Now, I do have a Ruger .308 with a 20X scope on it that you can borrow to get rid of that evil deer.

Hi Arch :ewave: I forgot you were registered here.
A lot of people at work swear by these though, deer whistles.

They say they've seen the deer raise their heads when approaching maybe hearing the high pitch whistle and move away from the road. 5 bucks at the most

i've heard they work as well..... i just don't care for how they look on the car when they're visible. now, if you could hide them behind the nose somehow, then i'd be willing to consider them
