Hey, my friend told me about this site, I am new here, A very annoying problem I have-my eyelids:
There's a rocker switch, when you turn the ambers on they should come on, then you push the side of the rocker switch and the eyelids should open and the headlights come on. If you push the Headlight switch it turns the amber rocker on too, so you cant ever have the ehadlights on without the amber driving lights as well-all is cool.
UNTIL, Recently:
now when you turn on the Amber driving lights, the eyelids open as well...... that sucks, in early evening and mornings i like to drive w/ just the ambers, but now it looks dumb with the eyelids open as well-GRRRRR I realize there's probably a short somewhere or a crossed wire or soemthing, but i can't recall changing anything, I have installed a lot of crap though, like a whole new stereo and other stuff.... so it is possible i screwed soemthing up. Has anyone else wittnessed a similar problem, or have a good knowledge of the wiring system for the headlights and eyelid motors? Thanks a LOT -Jowee

I would recommend changing the headlight switch... it's easy to do, and is probably your culprit. Those switches wear down from all the use they get, and after time if the contacts get worn down enough you can begin to see problems like what you are encountering. Hope that helps you out.

That could very well be it, someone on EBAY recommended that and I have replaced the swicth, but alas, with a used switch, had the used one been as worn as my original I'd have the same problem, let me take it apart and find out, thank you. -Jowee

well i took the dash apart and tried a different switch i even played around jumping all the pins there where the switch plugs in, and i can't get it to work how it used to, either the eyelids are up w/ the driving lights or the driving lights are off. i can't get just the driving lights on while the eyelids stay closed...... thancks though.... -Jowee

hmmm, that's no good.... I would recommend getting a brand new switch and seeing what happens. You can go to your local GM dealer and order a brand new one. I'm not sure of the price but I believe it's less than $20. That's about the only thing I can think of. If that doesn't work, then maybe... hmm. Does anyone know if there's a relay involved with the headlight motors? If there is, that could be malfunctioning, causing them to come up when they're not supposed to.
