Hey guys.
Does anyone have a low temp thermostat in their car? I have a 3.1L and was thinking about putting one in.
Are they overrated?
Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.

If our v6's are or follow same rule of thumb as s10's then you shouldn't run a cooler stat in it ever. We got a 92 s10 w/ a 2.8 throttle body and went for a new stat and it calls for a 195 and they said if you run a cooler one it'll make motor run cooler which will make the computer send more fuel into it making it have poor performance and gas mileage because it be thinking it was cooler like on a cold winter morning so we had to go back w/ a 195. Now on older vehicles liek our 80 model 350 in a 76 fullsize you can run the 160 and 180's and switch em out for summer and winter.

I used a 180 in mine. It works great, I was told running a 160 wouldn't work very well in our cars.
