trans am SSA???

a guy came into my work today with a trans am SSA :conf: :conf: :conf: does anyone know what SSA means? his car was a 88 or 89 v6 5 speed all stock except rims. never seen or heard of it before. TIA

IIRC, the SSA was a designation given to firebirds that received a ground effects package in 88 or 89.

SSA - Sport Apperence Package. Its not a Trans Am.
I get mistake for a TA because I added the wrap around wing, Tail lights and 16" Rims.

Camaro had the same thing at the time named it the RS.

Also for some reason I couldn't get a 5-Speed with my 3.1L when I want to buy.
