I have a 140 amp altenator. I need to get an isolator for my 2 battery set up.
Does anyone have any experience with the isolators from:

LEISURE COMPONENTS that are sold through JC Whitney?

They have a two battery isolator rated up to 165 amps for the best price I have found so far.

Here is the link:

I don't have any specific experence with that brand but a Bat. iso. is a fairly simple device so I say GO FOR IT :D

the tricky part is getting it wired to the alternator right if you have an AC Delco.. just wire it up one way
if it dosen't work... use the other wire and run a jumper fuse on the fuseblock
that SHOULD do it

I do have the stock 105 amp altenator in there now. I will be putting in a 140 amp alternator from PowerMaster. It is a direct factory replacement for my stock altenator.

What gauge wire do you recommend to connect the isolator to the altenator?

I would use at least 10 guage.... 140 amp.... 10 should be fine if its well insulated.... but I ran 8 awg on my 140amp alternator...
