Hey, I am buying a '84 TA 15th anniv.... its got a weird engine size (or at least to me it is). Its a 350 block .60over with a 327 crank...whats that like a 337cci? Ive been told its running just plain old 400 heads. So the 1st purchase for it is heads. The cam that was put in is 230/230dur .480 lift 112 lobe sep. I will be running nitrous, so I dont want too high of compresion. Cash is limited but im open to all sugestions. Thanks for all your help.

First things first. Pull of your valve covers and write down the serial numbers of the heads. They should at the very least match. This will insure that you have a matched set of heads. Next, go to www.mortec.com Here you can check the numbers and it will tell you if indeed you have LOW compression 400 heads. These heads were 76cc open chamber heads. Very low performance unless extensively modified.
For a cam and engine of your size, you can't beat the performance of a set of World Products S/R Torquer heads. These heads feature 170cc runners and 67cc chambers. They come with 2.02/1.60 valves as well. For only $389.95 each, you cannot beat it.
You may be able to find a cheaper set of heads doing an internet search. Just keep this in mind, go no bigger than a 2.02/1.60 valve. Make sure the valve springs will go to at least .525 lift. Also make sure they don't go more than .550 lift or it will round off the cam. For compression, go no higher than 67cc on the combustion chamber for cast iron and no higher than 64cc for aluminum.
Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Wow, thats a odd combo! That would make a good hi-rev motor.
I have the Dart Iron Eagles on my other Camaro and love them. The price was right and the quality is good too. Since you dont have a high lift cam, did you think about the Vortec's?
A side thought here, but you could take the crank & pistons out & sell them off-youll get a good price out of that crank!. Then put that $$$ towards a stroker crank & pistons ( re-use your rods). You cant go wrong getting a extra 46ci!

You are right freak. An engine with that small a cubic inch would have to rev really high and need a bigger cam and heads to flow it. These engines are usually reserved for light cars with powerglides. It is odd that someone would spend the time building something like that for a street car. I'm with you. He should sell the rotating to someone with a bracket car and build himself a nice 383 or bigger cubic inch engine.
