Well Heres what i got going. My whole interior is out of the car already. I was going to get new carpeting, but upon very close inspection, my carpet is a good candidate for a good steam cleaning only so i hauled the carpet to the basement to take on the steamer.. Mats on the other hand are going. I was getting my shifter knob off and accidently put a screw driver through the shift plate and boot :( (needless to say year one got some business on that one) also i never thought i would say this but my headliner is coming down by the second. (next gen again) I am also going back to stock motor mounts. Anybody want my ES ones. 30 a piece I bought them for. Free anybody want them I'll set them aside. Also i am getting fron koni adjustables. Anybody WANT my old front struts. They are monroe. About a year old. Great shape. 5,000 miles on them. Also I have my old torque arm with ES Poly mount anybody WANT it. Old drive shaft anybody WANT it? perfect shape and is balanced. I'm also going with Hotchkis Springs. I need a lower stance. The 4x4 out back look is sooo bad. Other then that um I'm getting a 2000 Trans Am CD Radio to replace my CD player now. It'll be the same color plus say Pontiac on it and will fit perfect (so I am told) Lets see what else. Well Finally getting the Y-Pipe coated and getting my Exhaust systme welded except one connection so it came come off. Also I'll put on my SFC that have been sitting in my attic for 2 years.

Building a 328 for my Mustang. I have almost everything for it already. Just need a crank, pistons/rings, tranny, flywheel&clutch, carbon fiber driveshaft, exhaust, and new sensors. I need to take off the driver's side A-arm too, and grease it up. I'll be working on my brother's car, but that should be done very soon. Also, the 306 for my dad's Mustang will be on the agenda.

SFC's for sure. I'm getting tired of looking at them every time I go down in the basement. One small problem looks to be a little interference with the dual cats but it's nothing I can't fix with the Sawzall. hehe
Everything else is still up in the air.

Man, I don't have that kind of cash to throw at the car, but hopefully I can get that dent out of the driver's side fender this winter!!!

Matt, maybe I should consider those shocks, after all, mine are 10 years old.

Muchas gracias Matt.

My plans now include shocks I guess but most importantly, a new exhaust system. I still haven't decided what to go with yet. I really haven't had a chance to put it up on a lift to see what the pipes look like before the cat but the muffler is swiss cheese. The midpipe looks brand new and I'm scratching my head on that, as I've been told that's usually the first thing to go.

Hey Rob,

My original pipe had plating on it, and it also looked really good except for the seam that blew out. You may want to check the seam on yours... that's probably the weakest point in the pipe. (I'm referring to where they roll it and weld it together.)

Well I put back in *** carpet, and seats. man do they look brand new. I also put in my new heater vents in the dash. Old ones broke. Now i must say I got a new console and shift plate and shift knob and OMG does it look brand new inside. Well I got the console in so far. I am still cutting ou the holes for the power mirrow switch (New) and window switches (New). The shift knob is on back order right now. And I am still waiting for my headliner and sunvisors. I also got my new Firebird mats in from ACC and they are nice. Also carolyn got me new kenwood speakers for the rear for my birthday and man does it sound nice. I also picked up a set of boston acoustic 4x6's for the front sicne they are th eonly ones who sells 4x6 that wil fit without modification due to the magnet size. Also I am reduing the dash light wireing and correcting it so I dont have that toggle switch underneigth. Lets s ee what else. um reduing the wireing for my guage pods, and thats it for the interior. Oh new a arm pillers too.

Just got a short-throw shift linkage installed on the GrandAm which leaves a chip, intake and rear sway-bar remaining in the short term and also hoping to get the Carbon Fiber hood when they get the production going. Planning on a fibreglass hood for the Camaro in the spring. A little snow and a deafening silence comes about here...

The other thing I gotta get for the Camaro is a OEM style switch that will fit in the Estucheon to control the power antenna and a convertible style logo since they only take one switch slot instead of the two that the standard logo takes. I don't think GM will sell this stuff to me and I don't want to have to by a complete Estucheon. Maybe I can get the stuff from SLP or find a wrecked vert. somewhere...

Hi all,
If I haven't been out job hunting it seems as if someone up there knows I hate crawling around under cars. (Unless it's the Camaro!) But that's another story since the Camaro rarely NEEDS repair. ;-)

She's almost in the garage for the winter, just gotta move a few things into my basement workshop. Oh, and the next dry day gotta get it tested for emissions. That's about it unless one of you has a 400 SBC for cheap! Actually, I want to take the interior apart to find where exactly in the roof it's leaking. Also a couple trips to the junkyard for other stuff like 4th Gen seats and a nice leather shifter handle. Won't be going to B&O, last time I was there was with a friend looking for a bench seat for his truck. I went to help him look and if we found one to help him remove it. The idiots there wouldn't let me in the yard! He (my buddy) told them to go to hell and we went to Pearl Rd. Auto Wrecking and got a nice seat for 30 bucks. Anyways, if anyone needs help getting parts I've got a '89 Olds Custom Cruiser that a little oil cannot hurt the bed carpet in. It'd be a fun Ford killer with a 455 motor under it's hood, heck probably take some Honda's too.

Later on,

I've got the chip for the GrandAm on order:

"These are full sports profile chips made by the guy who did the Olds Firehawk chips, so they arent just a fudged one like some of the W.coast guys send. It is a fully remapped fuel and spark curve and gives a solid 10-15 hp even on the 94 engines with their smalled exht. port- these were made for each spec engine exactly, and we are now having them done for us at a considerable cost. They up revs to 7400 and take out the top speed limiter too, we arent making much on these, but they are the best."

My chip came on Friday and I got the old Memcal unit out of the computer Sunday just before the Browns game started. I put the new one in during half time and the car fired right up, no codes, no problems (phew!). With the crappy weather it's hard to tell, but I ran it around the neighborhood and it seemed to rev. easier and quicker than before. Today on my way to work, it felt like there was a little more power at the 3000 RPM, 70 MPH. cruise. I hope the milage stays fairly close. Here's a pic of the stock and new memcal:

Heres whats left for the year.
-New Interior Sail Panels.
-New med grey interior paint to paint a piece I got from the junkyard.
-RePaint y pipe. I dipped it at my dads work and its spotless now and I ordered up some eastwood paint. I was going to get jethot but its way to expensive now. They went up form when i got my headers done 3 years ago + it seemed joshes pipe was rustin a tad with the jethot coating
-Ordered Eastwood Caliper paint to get the rears painted back to original silver color
- Repaint some spots underneigth
-Try to find out Y my car dies everyime I rev it.
It'll rev up to 5000 and I'll let off and it'll come down and die. unless i tap the throttle.
- Lots more of little shit too.
