View Full Version : how do i get my computer reprogrammed?

Alright i want to put a T-5 Transmission in my 87 Formula 350 (auto trans). How do i go about getting my computer set up for it. Can it be reprogrammed or do i have to get one from a firebird with a manual transmission in it??

why do you need to change the computer?

no, you will need to change one thing in the chip's settings.

What do you even have to change? We converted my friends car from a 700r4 to a T5 and didn't change anything w/ the computer. It works just fine....

it will work without the setting changed but if you don't change it the ecm will still try to attempt converter lockup still thinking it has an auto. If the setting is changed the ecm will know its a stick, and will not send an output signal for converter lock.
it will work, either way.
