I was out in Medina this afternoon and remembered that 42 has Test and Tune on Sundays. So, I ran out to make a couple passes with the new AC Delco fuel pump and Flowmaster Force II cat-back. I got there just after 1PM and got right in line with no cool down and tire pressure at 32 PSI. The car spun quite a bit off the line, like I expected. I figured a low 14 second run. Pulled up to get my time slip and was told I needed a helmet or I'm out. Damn It!!! Thought about driving home and getting it but it's over an hour round trip. Oh well, now I know I need my helmet or it's one pass and I'm out. New Times:
1/8 ET 8.927
1/8 MPH 77.45
1/4 ET 13.914
1/4 MPH 99.55

It'll be neat to see what you can get cooled down some with lower tire pressure. As soon as I get my GrandAm back I want to take it out and make some runs... That Force II sounded really good when you left Ananbelles...

Looks like everyone had a good weekend  I guess you were quite surprised Jay with that good of a time. You going out again soon?

I'd like to but it really depends on the weather from here on out. If I lived closer, I'd be there all the time. I was hoping to hit 100 MPH trap speed before I put the Z away for the Winter but atleast it's in the 13's, my other goal for this year.

Went back today with my helmet!!! Ran five times, never slower than a 13.907, with a best of 13.812. Done for the season, I think. Did get to kick a little Ford and Ricer butt though. Beat a Toyota MR2, Riced out Cavalier and a Supercharged GT 5.0. Lost to a Lightning, only by 1/10th and 11 sec El Camino. The SC'd GT missed a couple gears or I'd have been toast.

 Consistent times Jay with some good asskicking to boot.

Thanks Rob, that Cavalier looked like an ant in the rearview!!! If I can get consistent reaction times, the Camaro will dominate bracket racing. The car itself runs extremely consistent, if I don't destroy the tires on launch.

So are drag slicks your next investment?

No, I'd like to see what I can do with a set of real slicks but I'm probably going to go back to regular radials. The Nitto Drag Radials didn't last too long street driven and you can't run full slicks in the class I want to run in. So it looks like I'll just run the same Z-rated Nittos I have on the front of the Z, on the rear. This is kind of a funny side note, the Z-rated Nittos on the front are actually a half inch wider than the Nitto DR's on the rear and both are 275/40/17's.

I've never taken a run anywhere, but the GA is ready now that I got the front-end done. I'm gonna have to check schedules at Norwalk, 42 & Thompsons. I'd really like to get out this week before that white stuff Erin was talking about starts flying around here.

Got this from a guy at Norwalk,

Yes, we will be racing the first three Sundays in November. Gates open at

Hope to see you there, weather permitting.

Make sure you take your helmet John :D

Nah, I won't be needing that! The only helmet I own is a Bell (cycling) helmet and it's not legal for motorsports. Best I could expect of the GA is 15s so I won't get kicked out!
