View Full Version : Looking for a 700-R4.... anybody have a spare?

Hey all,
I have a 700-R4 in my '90 RS V6 and it is on it's way downhill and I really don't have the money to get it overhauled. Does anyone have a spare 700-R4 from a parted car? or a swap? From what I understand the 700-R4 is the same, just the bell houseings are different sizes.... is this correct?
And also can anyone recommend a book or video or some form of media about rebuilding tranny's? the 700-R4 in particular? Or is this something that should not even be attempted?

If I purchase this parts car my buddy has I will have a new 700r4, about 10000 miles on tranny, with a performance shift kit. I'll let you know in a little while.

Do not attemt to rebuild your 700R4 if you have no tranny experience! Way hard I wouldn't EVER touch and automatic! Fuck trannys lol!
