Okay, I'm looking at an '87 Z28, although the ad says RS, the guy on the phone said Z28. But anyways, it's a 4bbl which I think it should be TBI right, for 87? I heard you pick up about 30HP swapping the TBI for a 4BBL, is that true? It's an hour and a half away and although I like the price and the look (minus the pink paint) I dont want to drive all that way just to see a POS.

Here's the ad:

1987 CHEVY CAMARO RS -- V-8, auto., 4 bbl. carb, AC, PW, PDL, tilt, loaded, maroon w/gray cloth, Z28 Ground Effects, hood scoop, runs great! Local trade, $1750.

First you need to figure out if it is a tbi or if it is a 4 bbl carb. I think the carb engine was still around in '87, but it is probably a tbi, which would be better anyway because the tbi engine was a little more powerful to start with. You could then get rid of the tbi and get a good carb but you would also have to get a vacuum advance distributor and ditch the computer. I don't know what the numbers would be but you are bound to gain some power out of it.
