i'm kind of up for tahoe right now, but we'll see how moods change.

GO SOUTH FOR A CHANGE :) Although that would be a blast, a gathering on a weekend day would be almost imposibble do to the three million tourists that are there on Saturday and Sunday.

Let's keep thinking... :)

Maybe we could do something like this some day.

SONOMA, Calif. - The newly renovated Infineon Raceway has again opened its gates for behind-the-scenes tours of the dynamic racing facility.

Featuring a recently completed $50 million Modernization Plan that has touched nearly every aspect of the property, visitors will be treated to a glimpse of the facility that is home to events including NASCAR Winston Cup, NHRA POWERade Drag Racing, American Le Mans Series and the AMA Chevy Trucks Superbike Championship series.

Infineon Raceway is also home to more than 70 racing-related shops, a restaurant, "76" gas station, driving school and the Infineon Raceway Karting Center. The facility is in operation 50 weeks a year, making it one of the busiest motorsports venues in the country.

Visiting groups will tour the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School, complete with a chance to view the cars and visit with instructors. Visitors will then tour some of the on-site tenant shops as well as watch the on-track action from pit lane. The tour will conclude with a trip to the new start/finish grandstand and the corporate luxury suites, which offer a commanding view of the raceway and the scenic Sonoma Valley. As time and group size permits, visits to the karting center are also available.

Tours are open to organized groups of 10 people or more and must be scheduled at least one week in advance. Tour dates are available September - January. Food is not provided, but an on-site restaurant and eating area are available. Tours can be tailored to meet the needs of individual groups. The tours are open to organized groups of all types, including volunteer organizations, businesses, schools and social clubs.

If you have questions about this program or are interested in arranging a tour, please contact Diana Rose at (707) 938-8448, ext. 118, or by Email at drose@infineonraceway.com.

The monterey thing sounds sweet. I've never been there and I heard it's pretty great. Six Flags Marine World would be great also.

Too bad we couldn't get a bit of money together as a group and organize some kinda group drags at Infineon or Sac raceway. That'd kick some ass. As far as other ideas, I dunno. Theme parks (Great America, etc) are kinda expensive. But as long as there's good notice, I'm down for whatever.

Well if I plan this gathering I'm doing it for tahoe! so someone better step up or were going. Besides that been on our places to go list for awhile now.

Theme parks are very very expensive.

I would think that the whole point of having a gathering is to hang out together somewhat. There is a place here in the Bay area where we can go race mini indy cars against one anothers times, there is also a mini golf place witha batting cage and arcade where we could go play some games.( Malibu golf & games)

Then we could also plan a bar b que for that day for afternoon activities, or just go to a park and chill and take photos.

We could also make another run to Dave & Busters for some fun and games.

Maybe do the indy car thing, then go to Vasona park.

There is a place in Santa Cruz called Natural Bridges. They have a great picnic area and if we can get into one of the lots, we could have pics on the ocean.... I'm in Santa Cruz almost ever weekend and as long as you don't go to the boardwalk, you're fine. Traffic is easy around the rest of the city. Maybe we could go bowling or something............ I'm down for either sat or sun any weekend. Just let us know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: And for you guys who want to go see Monterey.... We could go cruise the 17 mile drive. That's always fun.

How about Nov. 24????? Should still be kinda warm. Say we meet in Santa Cruz @ 11am, BBQ, then head down to Monterey get there by 3pm. Cruise around. Then people can take off to go home around 5-6? And those who ar close by can maybe go bowling or something back in Santa Cruz. It sounds like a fun meeting to me. Last one I was at, we got rained out....... but we still had a great time!
