View Full Version : Hi, another car problem , not running right

well , Its hesitating when I drive it , it has tpi.I put fuel injector cleaner in .... then if I step on it ,it will go and then keep cutting out it has not died on me .. any ideas???like its choking for gas... but not enough to die. I swear in my next life I am gonna marry a chevy mechanic lol...... thanks again Julie

it might be your fuel pump. then again, you have gas in it right? ;) :D

Yeah... sounds like the fuel pump. Mine was doing that and I changed the fuel pump. Its a bitch to do though... you gotta drop the gas tank.

rather then just making the obvious guess... heres what you should do:

get a fuel pressure gauge...

hook it up to your fuel rail

see what the pressure is..


if its low, then you need a new fuel pump... its that simple. :raz:

It doesn't mean the fuel pump is bad. Obviously if the car runs the pump is good. The filter could be clogged up, something in the line, bad injectors, or dirty injectors, bad fpr. There are many things that could be wrong don't jump right into the fuel pump. Just test everything before u go dropping the gas tank.

Always start with the cheapest and easiest. Change the fuel filter first, then check the pressure. But pretty much everything has already been said, I guess I don't have much reason to be in this post do I? :lala:
