Seems lately that everybody has lost interest in their cars and car shows. I mean one bites the dust and another one is on its way out. Speedy hasnt been heard from or seen in ages, Marks car is all messed up, Robs busy with work , trips, and expenses with the Gutless. Nick T's car..... Well i was there the other day and I could have been hung by all the wires cut and evertyhing. Rich is now out. I think the best showing we had was "my' gathering at annas last year in October. Hell we had everybody there. Every Tuesday Solon was packed and everything even 303. Seems Jayzee, Erin, LF, 84 and Stu are the new regime. I dont know it just makes me sad. I know I havent been going to may shows, but I guess thats because many people are not showing up anymore....

It has been a pretty bad year for me. Ive just been so damn busy this summer its driving me insane. Last summer was so much easier for me because i was laid off of work, lol. Im not getting out of it though. Ill have another 3rdgen on the road before you know it.

Yep I noticed that also. I really haven't lost interest in car shows, I just cant afford to store, fix and improve a second pleasure auto for the foreseeable future. Hell selling it saves me more than $100 monthly alone, from insurance and storage fees.

A even 5000. Considering I only expected 5500 at most...
There was just no way I could keep it. Heck, even the family financial situation here has gone from bad to worse. I am pretty sure I found a good way to escape this sinking ship though. Its called the Air Force.

Give me until next spring and I will be out in force. With the same car different color and better than ever. I opened my garage for the first time in 2 months this past Sunday. Im bring it back from the dead. Ive sorta got over my depression from it being destroyed. It kinda sucks everone is selling off their cars and stuff but I can understand why. Hey of your bored come on over I have pleny of car stuff to do ;)

I can only blame myself for missing most of the shows. It's all those things and more Matt. I miss 303 the most...that was the best place of all. Solon was not in the works for me most of the summer...tooo damn hot. Sitting on hot asphalt for hours and with work the way it was going, I needed to go home instead and relax. And being 1 minute from the lake, I made full use of it. I hit the water at least 4 times a week. It's become my tension reliever.
And except for this forum, I've lost interest in the boards anymore. I was involved with 7 other sites before the summer began, one where I'm a moderator and now down to zip...but here is where my friends are. I've even let my club membership expire...and haven't decided what to do about that.
Glad to see you're going to salvage the car....though the reason you have too sucks rocks. I guess the kid responsible never helped?

aw...dude, you gotta problem with the new people? hehe j/k. I've even had problems showing up at the shows. it's hard to make time especially now since i got a new job. Even though i'm really new to the all shows, i also miss the regular attendees. Last week at solon there was only what 3 of us? :(

Amen to all that stuff above!
This summer has been way too hectic. Like Rob, I became so tied up in other stuff that most of the board stuff took a back seat. Money became pretty tight, too, after hitting the shows in Canada and Michigan. I think the Fall Classic will be the last big one for me this year.
I did finally get up to Solon this week, but all I saw was Greg. Erin - you were at Solon too?!? I must have missed you! (I took off after Greg and I got some dinner.) There were an aweful lot of cars for charity night, but when you do not see the regular "crew", the cruise is just not the same... I had to bug out early and just drive.
BTW Rob, have you done anything in the way of brakes yet? I haven't heard anything, so I assume you've just been too busy. (Same here - sorry if that inconvenienced you.) :( Let me know...

OH!!! I almost forgot...
Rumor has it that the Brunswick show never really died, it just moved. Supposedly its back in the original area near Carney's. I ran into a few relatives from the area and they were asking if I was going to show up out there sometime with the car.
Unfortunately, every weekend I've had this summer has been booked. I'm now racing mother nature to get the final touches on the back yard (including the concrete patio) and get it seeded so it has time to get a good root base before the fall leaves drop and kill it.
Perhaps we can do some fall cruises out there yet... and there's always next year...

I've been to two shows this year. One was the first one with you guys, the other was when my buddy from Pittsburgh was up. I was just talking about this very subject with my Dad yesterday, I believe it was. Now that I have the 'stang, I really don't feel like taking it to any shows. I haven't really felt the need to go to any...this has been a very blah year for the car scene...

It is sad that this has happened, all winter I couldnt wait for the shows to start. I think the "death blow" was Brunswick shutting down, after that happened I felt kind of lost as I think most of us did.
Brian I am sorry you had to sell your car, but your financial well being and stability is more important. I have seriously considered selling mine, but I just cant bring myself to do it.
I hope to see you all soon, and on a more regular basis.

Thats sounds like a good idea Josh, September would work for me, but we may have the new edition to the family soon hehe.
How's Joelle? Amanda thought she was comming to the shower last Saturday. I hope everything is ok.
We should start posting some tentative dates, so everyone can come.

Wow - where to start on this thread... First off Matt, we've seen Speedy some - a couple of times at 303, once (at least) in Berea, and in Twinsburg, although I had to leave early that night and probably missed some others. Everyone gets busy with stuff at times... 303 did deal a blow. The first show we made and the last few before they closed it down were so awesome. The new Laurel Square show attracts almost as many cars now, but when I last went and took all the photos, Ed left early because the D.J. was giving him a headache almost immediately. The lack of a DJ at 303 was part of the charm. Just cars as a focus. The D.J. for the CPN show was a lot better 'cause he played a wider variety of stuff. I'm all for the park cookout if we can just find a good day for most of us. Got the Browns games entering into the schedule now, but maybe a Saturday or a Sunday they are on the road?
