2.8 to bigger????

alright i have a 1984 camaro with a 2.8l in it and i just blew my motor with 210,000 km on it. either i buy a rebuilt the same size or go bigger. I want to go to a bigger engine but i dont want to change my tranny so does anyone no if i could fit a 4.3L or even a 3.1L into my car without having to change my tranny?

you can use a 3.1 out of any 90-92 camaro or even a 3.4 out of a 93-95 camaro. FWD 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4 do not work due to different valve geometry. A 3.8 or 4.3 would require a new trans
